Why is the War on Gaza Happening?

the University of the Fraser Valley.

The horrifying events [of the past two weeks] are not taking place in a vacuum. Ahmed Abu Artema is a Palestinian journalist and peace activist. In an article, “Letter from the Gazan Prison,” which he posted online four days ago, he addressed this, writing,
We must ask the question: Why is this happening? . . . The question should be how  everything started. We cannot read a book by starting with the last chapter, logically one must start reading from chapter one. We need to understand the background, the root of the problem.
