Statement regarding Israel breaking the ceasefire agreement

On March 18th, UNJPPI published a statement about Israel breaking the ceasefire agreement

The statement reads:

In the early hours of March 18 Israel attacked Gaza with planes, drones, helicopters and tank fire, killing over 400 unarmed civilians. This is the most severe breaking of the first stage of the ceasefire agreement that began on January 19, the eve of the inauguration of President Donald Trump. In spite of the agreement Israel killed over 100 Gazans and, for the past two weeks, blocked all aid from entering Gaza and cut off electricity.

UNJPPI decries the on-going genocide of the Palestinian people, both in Gaza and in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, territories occupied by Israel illegally, according to the International Court of Justice. Today’s massive attack is unconscionable. We urge the Canadian government to condemn this breaking of a negotiated ceasefire and the murder of the unprotected civilian population of Gaza. May God have mercy on the souls of the dead and ensure justice for those who kill, provide armaments or stay silent
