On Nov 26, 2024, UNJPPI wrote a letter to Prime Minister Trudeau with the subject: Thank You for Canada’s Principled Response to ICC Arrest Warrants

Excerpt:

…Media report that on November 21st, when you were questioned in relation to the warrants, you stated that Canada will abide by international court rulings. You stressed the importance of everyone abiding by international law. You noted that Canada is one of the founding members of the ICC and the International Court of Justice (‘ICJ’) and you clearly stated that Canada will abide by all the rulings of the international courts…

As was reflected in the overwhelming September 18th vote of the UN General Assembly in response to the July 19th ICJ decision, a very large majority of countries recognize the world’s desperate need for compliance with international law. We do hope that Canada will help the world achieve that compliance.
